Welcome to the Richmond Valley
Flood Information Website

This website was designed to make it easier for you to find information about flooding in your area. The site is a collaborative project between Richmond Valley Council and the NSW SES.

Explore the site to learn more about flooding behaviour in the catchment, historical flooding and what to do in a flood. There is also a tool for you to generate your own flood map.

  • The SES is the lead agency and primary source of help during floods and storms.
  • The SES works closely with other emergency services.
  • For emergency help in floods or storms ring the SES on 132 500. For life threatening emergencies ring 000.
  • You can protect your family during an emergency by preparing beforehand. An emergency kit is an essential requirement for any disaster.
  • Never drive, ride or walk through floodwater. Water may be deeper or faster flowing than people think and may contain hidden snags and debris. This is the main cause of deaths during floods.
